Anyone driving and not charging regularly? I have an x5d right now and lease is up. Decisions.... MSD's are not gone, and list price has gone up. I may knock out some features, but wanted to get feedback.
1. I am not too familiar with various modes / buttons on this car. I was thinking: engine is always running + electric power kicks in when I floor it. Does Sport mode correspond to that? Basically, I wanted to find out the worst mpg one could get when driving the car aggressively. For sport mode, do you mean pushing the stick to the left where you have to shift, or pressing the button that says, "sport mode," or both?
I've done one or the other, but never both together. When I'm shifting, I can usually get 22-25 mph. Probably similar when I push the button.
Our electric bill went up by maybe $20/month.
Not sure what you mean by, "self charging." I always just plug in when I get home or arrive at work. It charges right away. There is a way to time it to charge during specific hours, if you live somewhere that has different electric rates at different times of day.
If you just put the vehicle in D and go, it will use a mix of both electric and gas (I think that is called Comfort Mode). When I leave my neighborhood, it usually will be in electric (the tachometer stays at 0). After I get out to the main road, there's a hill to go up (if I go one direction), and I can usually predict when it will need more power than electric can provide...if I keep up the speed going uphill.1. 2. Thanks, that is much better than I expected.
3. I was referring to battery self charging function while driving the car.
