Just a heads-up for anyone who may be interested. I was at the dealer tonight and saw a stack of DVD's on my salesman's desk. When I asked him what they were, he promptly handed me one and said that they were giving them away as promo material while they lasted...I don't know if it's a nationwide thing, but worth a look if you want one...

I had them when they were rare... worth $60 a piece on eBay. If you got them before I did, you could have sold them for $120 a piece :yikes:

Not anymore though... I think people have figured it out. Fun while it lasted.

Really?! $120..?! :yikes: I had no idea.?! I downloaded all the movies and sub-plots to my machine as soon as they were available, but this will be a nicer permanent addition...

After I saw the $120 price on eBay, I ended up with 10 of the DVDs thanks to a nice person at BMW. :thumb:

Gave some to my friends, some away on .org, and sold a bunch. I only have 1 left... that one I'm keeping!

The times I've asked at the dealers the last few times, they've always been 'huh?' about it.

Luckily I have the copy from Roundel and one I got (in a jewel case!) at the Auto Show.

Yes, that would be me... I am the original from the 'org. It's been a while! My 99 would have been three years old in two weeks. Last I heard of it, it was in Florida.

Come to think of it, my '00 will be three years old in August... boy has the time flown by!

Yeah, I was one of those people who bought it on Ebay. It only had season 1 but with "The Follow" missing.

The DVD is the best. Not only does it have "The Follow", but it has all of season 2 with "making of " sections, and commentaries. Essentially the whole shooting match.

And I got it at the dealership for free. Man was I happy. Haven't taken it out of my dvd player yet.

Get's me really psyched up especially since I'll be a new bmw owner in a few months!!

Do those guys at bmw know how to market.

Yeah, the one I got at the dealer had season 2 on it. They had them displayed at the parts counter. And it said "FREE", one of my favorite words.

I thought they were supposed to mail one out to me. I signed up on the Circle and then got an email asking me if I still wanted one or something like that. I said I did and never got the damned thing. I must be doing something wrong. :dunno:

The "new" DVD is being shipped to all members in next month's Roundel.

it includes Hostage, Chosen, Ticker, The Follow, Beat the Devil, Star, Ambush, and Powder Keg.

Copies were also given out last night at the meeting and E60 introduction at BMWNA Headquarters.

Me too! I think the Roundel ones will be blister-packed in the plastic wrap (like an AOL CD in a magazine). At the meeting, they did say that the ones they were giving out had nicer packaging (in normal DVD boxes w/ cover art) than the ones that would be coming in Roundel. No idea what is happening with the Owner's Circle ones - haven't seen anything from there yet.

I got one of the original ones at HC and was supposed to pick one of the new ones up from my FAVORITE dealer :::AHEM::: but forgot to ask for it when I was there last. I hope it's still available from them.

For all who can't get to their dealer, "the hire" can be ordered from bmwfilms.com. The DVD itself is free but you have to pay the postage. Ordered mine and it only took about a week to arrive.

I decided to visit the Owners' Circle and check on this. There is a link posted to request the new DVD, so I went ahead and did it. Delivery time is said to be 4-6 weeks. We'll see. :dunno: No charge, of course! :thumbup:
