Of course, this could encourage summer tire use. One of the snow tires or all season tires, used during the winter, could be the full sized spare most of the year. One of the summer tires would be the spare during the winter.

In my previous car, I retrofitted a full sized spare to replace a compact spare. In my new BMW, I plan to eventually use a snow tire as a full sized spare if I travel more than about 50 miles away, which isn't often. For me, only a trip to expensive British Columbia or over the mountains to eastern Washington state would justify it for me, not locally. Maybe not even south to Portland, Oregon as it is fairly urban much of the way. It might depend on your circumstances. It's nice to be able to drive at full speed, which could be a 70 mph speed limit.

I have a new, never used BMW wheel and a new, never used Dunlop run flat for my F30. This is my full sized spare tire. It's the best because there are no 50 mph speed limitations or 50 miles of use with a full sized spare. You could use it for 10,000 miles and more going at 100 mph if you want

I am planning to get snow tires so my snow tires/wheel set up can be my summer spare tire.

Private message me and I will practically give you the full sized spare tire for a nominal fee, nothing near the price of a new wheel and new tire, which is what I have.

Having a full sized spare is really peace of mind and a feeling of security.
