I have done a search and only came up with someone who knows someone that did a staggered set up on a Touring. Anyone with a Touring that actually has a staggered set up on a Touring? I have a 525iT. I am looking to use the stock 255 40 17 in the rear on a 9" wide rim and a 235 45 17 up front on an 8" wide rim.

Also, from what I have read, this is the stock 540i sport set up. The 265 40 17 is a better match to the diameter of the 235 45 17... Any traction control issues with the 255 and 235 set up?

I know a non staggered set up makes more sense for the under powered 2.5 motor, but the staggered wheels look better.

My 2003 540iT came with 17x8 wheels all around with skinny 235/45/17 tires. I swapped in some OEM M5 18x9.5" wheels with 275/35/18 tires all around and they fit fine, no rubbing. Even with Dinan Stage 3 suspension.

You won't have any traction control issues.

vince,

i run (well, except the last 2 weeks and running...) a staggered setup, but in 19s. 8.5 fr on 245/35/19, 9.5 rr on 275/30/19, no rubbing (i think) on full dinan stage 3 susp, like redshift.

right now it's on 18 x 8.5 bbs rc with 245/40/18 all around.

:bawling: and i just violated my promise NOT to look at my acs pics.
