Recently had a discussion with others about swapping wheels and the subject of TPMS came up. None of us knew the answer. Can one install the sensors from current wheels on to older OEM wheels that do not have the sensors? If so, would TPMS work correctly going forward?

It should do. The valve stem is standard size, right?
The only issue is the change in TPMS sensor set-up.

Absolutely will work. Do it all the time. There should be no issues whatsoever, though it is best to use a new seal, and properly torque the securing nut.

I put some style 313 rims on and they used the TPMS sensors from the old style 230 wheels (as seen on my sig pic, so yes, I need to update my pic). However, they told me that the length of the valve stem was different and they had to use a different valve stem to make it work, but otherwise no problem.
