Doing oil change on my M57 with 6-speed manual.

Nothing strange with motor oil, but transmission oil.. I kind of run out a bit.. using Redline MTL.. it's saturday evening so I looked, what else do I have..

Redline power steering fluid..
It says it fits power steering, which should have ATF fluid.. some people add bit of ATF fluid in their manual transmission, so it sounds like could work..

We will see..

In my opinion that would be a big mistake.
How much is that transmission to replace it? Are you really considering doing that to yours?
Manual transmissions are much easier to find the right gear oil for than a automatic. But power steering fluid is a no brainer. Or are you just trying to instigate a bimmerfest discussion?

I already did, Redline MTL is good stuff, used already many times before, but run out bit before transmission was full, so added little bit of Redline power steering fluid for topping up, now I wish it's going to be fine.

Otherwise I need to redo soon.

Redline MTL is good. You can go Redline D4 too!
