navtv help needed

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know how to get the tv working while driving?
I have a -00 540i.

The following worked on the -99 M5, but not in this car. any ideas? :dunno:

Set ignition key to position 2 (where fan, A/C, etc. are on, but you haven't started motor)this not work for me i have to start the engine
Enter TV mode
Enter "Settings"
Enter "Contrast" or "Brightness" for MK II
When the green contrast bar is visible, push the knob and keep it pressed.
Turn ignition key to "OFF" position (while keeping button pressed).
Wait 8 - 10 seconds (accurate timing is important)
Release the knob.
Turn on ignition again.
Now TV will display while car is in motion

Also, do a search here on NAV TV and you will find about 2-3 other companies that provide the equipment to get your TV to stay on while in motion. Check them all out.

Your little trick, I think, does not work with the MK III and IV but I'm not sure if the '99 has MK I and the '00 has MK II. I know that MK III started in 2001 and MK IV started in 2003. MK IV is the DVD-based NAV. MK III is the 16:9 larger-screened NAV. MK I-II is the smaller screen.

It seems the trick works on Mk I (-99), not on Mk II (-00), sadly!
