Hi guys,

I changed the front pads on my 2014 530d F11.

All went reasonably smooth except for a mystery height issue but i think i hit something and put my front end out of whack but that’s another story.

after bedding in the brakes and then going away for work for a few months, i have come back to see that the front pads on both sides don’t appear to be contacting the outer say 5mm of the rotors.

correct replacement pads
Pads were greased with anti seize on the sliders and the backs.
brakes work well also, no problems, vibrations, squeal or anything.

i’ve even pulled them out again, regreased and double checked they were the correct size and type (they are)

Any ideas guys?

I had this issue on my e60 a few years back....could not figure out the reason (I blamed that Pads where out of spec) and ended up having to change the Rotors as the pads created a 'Lip' on it. 5mm is a lot, mine was probably 1-2mm, just enough to be felt / seen.
