Hey everyone,

Ok, so Sean confirmed that the ALMS #43 can be ordered in the US. But not the ALMS #42. Pricing should be around $30 or so.

You can also check out Ebay. There are a couple for sale at that price too. Turns out that the cost of the model from UK including shipping from UK to me and then from me to you is about $32 or so. Hence I won't be doing a group buy anymore.

However, here are some tips about these ALMS models.

1. Those released through BMW (in a folding black case like shown) are more collectible. These are made by MiniChamps for BMW. Comes in #42 and #43.

2. IXO models released #42 and #10 (the Yokohama car). IXO are much cheaper than Minichamps and not released as BMW promos. I have a feeling that IXO models are better made. Look at the M3 side grille. IXO scales the models better than Minichamps.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST....

Yes, there will be a 1/18 version released through BMW. Not sure if it will be Minichamps or IXO or Kyosho. But once it's available, I will post again.

But quite difficult to find now. It was released by UT models. The catalog number is UT20516.

BMW released something quite similar but for 318i in steel gray and in your exact 16" wheel design too. That part number is 80 43 0 028 459.

All in 1/18.

I just want to tell everyone that the BMW p/n's posted the other day by Vince for the #42 & #43 cars are for the 1:18 scale. That's what the parts dept. computer stated. The list is $41.00. I can order it from my dealer for $36.90. (10% off).

Sean, the p/n are for 1/43 for sure. Cos the third and fourth numbers are "42". 1/18 has "43", 1/43 has "42" and 1/87 has "41". Part numbers aren't available yet for 1/18 scale.

Usually BMW motorsports 1/18 goes for $85 or higher.

Just to clarify and confirm again. The p/n for 1/43 ALMS GTR are:

80 42 0 139 180 ALMS #43
80 42 0 139 179 ALMS #42

I saw the screen myself (DCS - inventory). Not trying to argue, but it did say 1:18. I was surprised so we double checked in a mimiature catalog to make sure 1:18 it was the big one (I can never remember). I'll swing by the dealer later and have them check it again.

That's probably what I'll do. I want the #42 car, which just so happens to be the one that there are 540 of in BMW AG inventory. It shouldn't take more than a week to get it here.

Really?! I looked earlier and the only ones I saw were at the same price or higher than autobarn. Guess I should've looked closer...damn! I'll check and see if I can cancel my order or at least get them to come down a little. Autobarn = :flipoff:

Yup, for the p/n's above the DCS says they are the 1:18 scale. We'll see. I ordered the #42 car. Should be here next Tuesday. There are now 13 of one and 15 of the other, in the US.
