Views from the Castle. The castle is located on a hill overlooking the river Danube, the southern-most hill of the Small Carpathian Mountains, 150 meters above sea level.

Bratislava Questions

Jspira,

Did you stay overnight in Bratislava? And, if so where did you stay?

If not, did you feel safe parking your if you did park it anywhere?

What are some of the key sites that you think would be on the "cool list" from the ones that you post on this thread?

Any other tidbits would be surely appreciated...

I am thinking of stopping there on my ED...

Is that a Chrysler 300 (silver car) in the background of the volleyball picture?

I did not stay in Bratislava. It is only half an hour away from Vienna (people commute back and forth). It is certainly as safe as any other European city. I parked in a parking garage in the old city.

One person´s cool list might be another person´s trip from hell :)

I think every place I listed is worth visiting but not knowing your likes and interests, it´s hard to make a recommendation.

What does your itinerary look like thusfar?

I will be on my way to Vienna from Prague so I figured I would stop through since it would be another cool country to visit. But from what you have seen (and I have been reading the boards for a few months now) I must say that your "cool" sites are surely cool sites.

When I do my ED, I think I may hit the record on the amount of countries in such a small amount of time! I have been to Europe many times before but what I am trying to do is hit the 1000 mile mark so that I can really open up the new vehicle on the Autobahn.

So we are looking at Germany, CZ Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, France, Belgium, UK, and Scotland.

What does your itinerary look like? Any reason you are leaving Hungary off the list.

Bratislava was nice but you can spend days in Budapest if not weeks.

Meant to say ,,danke`` for that.

Budapest, Hungary is really pushing me into uncharted territories. I could consider it but man, talk about a serious trek. All of the countries I stated before are all basically one day stops, I wish I could do it over 2 months, but it will be more like 2 weeks in all the major cities.

I know Europe is one of those places that can take a lifetime to discover but this time it will really be a serious marathon thoroughly feeling out the car more than anything else.

I am slowly plotting the stops and reading all of the information that you and other Bimmerfest members have posted. What a wealth of information...

So now that you stated Budapest, what hotel would you recommend? Any sites there that are quite interesting?

Well, I was quite happy at the Westend Hilton. Very modern but good location and good parking.

There´s as much if not more to see in Budapest over Praha but take a look at the highlights (many from Hungary) of the most recent E.D. trip at http://www.basex.com/basex/jbsbilder.nsf/photo+gallery
