I recently brought in an 02 330i into Canada from the US. Are the following possible w/o having to take it to the dealer:
1. Change the odometer to km's
2. Change the auto climate control to degrees C
3. Eliminate the automatic door lock feature
Thanks.

Climate and door locks can be dont with the carsoft stuff you can buy. The k/m's are painted on the gauge face right?

To change the climate control from C to F, press the AUTO button and the FRONT DEFROST button at the same time, then let go :).

I just did this, so I can tell you what I did: Took the car to an independent BMW specialist (Nixon Automotive) The guys there race their BMWs, so I figured they really knew the car.

It took them about 15 minutes to change the odometer from Miles to KM; the temp reading default from Fahrnenheit to Celsius; activate the daytime running lights, the fuel consumption from MPG to L/100Km; and some smaller convenience changes (Key memory stuff).

You can change the temp readout using the buttons as Kris mentioned, but they always change back to the default.

After I did this, the car made it through the Canadian inspection with no problems.

No they don't. The climate control remembers the temp scale.

I had an E46 rental in Germany. I set the climate control from C to F, it never changed back throughout my trip.

To make the change, I push two buttons on the climate control. One of them is the front defrost, I think the other is the auto button. The change is instantaneous. However, the minute I turn the key back to O, then on again, the default (celsius in my case) comes up.

What am I doing wrong?:dunno::dunno:
