Took a little roadtrip outside Las Vegas on Saturday... drove around, through, beside, and over Mt. Charleston, Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Mead, and Hoover Dam, respectively.

I highly recommend this daytrip for anyone visiting Vegas... not only will you save some money from not gambling for 5 or 6 hours, but you'll enjoy some amazing scenery, both natural and man-made, not to mention some really fun driving. Watch your speed though... my V1 actually picked up some Park Ranger radar traps in Lake Mead Nat'l Rec. Area.

Here's a couple of shots from Valley of Fire SP... right off the camera -- no cropping or other processing yet.

Wow! Great Pics...

I've always wanted to do that. I've been to Las Vegas close to 100 times and recently I've wanted to go driving to that area, but somehow I manage not to go. Hmmm...I'm going soon and I'd rather get out there before it gets really hot.

Aren't we south-landers suppose to meet up for a drive??? And you went by yourself!!

Anyhoo, this sunday, Malibu Canyons. ;)
What time? Where do we meet?

I have a gig Saturday night, but I think I'd still be up for getting up early for a canyon drive. :thumb: I think my favorite spot right now is the intersection of Stunt Rd. and Saddle Peak Rd. Great spot to watch the sun set... you can see the ocean, the glimmer of Long Beach, the San Fernando Valley, and even the 5/405 as it winds into Simi Valley.

I went to Vegas with my wife... one last weekend getaway while we still have our freedom... :D (she's pregnant -- our daughter is due May 15)
