At the bottom of the Nav screen I see occasionally a message with an exclamation mark saying "Radio mode switched on". Does anyone know what it means? It's a '06 330i.

Nope. It's still a mystery...

It means you have Comfort Access, the engine is off, ignition in accessory mode, and the radio is on ... with the driver's door opened. Close the door and the message and exclamation point disappear.
