I need some guidance... I recently bought my 04 E63 and have just found that there is a small amount of standing water in the trunk under the battery.

there did not appear to be any indication of water on any of the carpeting except for some dampness right in the center of the trunk - which since it is in the middle of the trunk with no seams above makes me think this may have just been damp due to water being present underneath in the battery/fuse compartment.

has anyone had this leaky trunk issue? I would like to resolve this myself asap.

Any advice is much appreciated!

clean it up and let it out in the rain and see if it does it again

Recall

Hello,
I believe there is a recall on the trunk drainage system. BMW performed this recall on my 05 645 Vert during one of my latest service appointment.

There is definitely a recall on the convert top drainage tube. Your dealer should be able to take care of it at N/C.
