Hi,

My 2006 760 recently ( yesterday) started leaking coolant from the weep hole very badly. The coolant will pour out even with the engine not running and all the coolant will be drained in about 20 min with the engine running.

My question dumb question is this, can the weep hole be blocked ? Where would the coolant go if it cant come out of the weep hole ( yes I know not the brightest idea but I need a quick fix until I can get parts to fix tgus properly.)

water pump has failed!!!!!!

Mechanical water pumps***8217; shaft seal packing is lubricated and cooled by the pumped fluid that must always ***8216;leak***8217; a bit.

Third generation BMW WP have a collection chamber to steam off the collected weepage invisibly, visible fluid from a 3rd generation WP is presumptive failure.

Second generation BMW WP have only a weep hole that may show evidence of dried coolant residue normally. Excessive weepage - ***8220;leaking ... very badly***8221; - has failed.
