Weird

So this was kind of odd today. Started off when I went to unlock my car my driver's side didn't unlock but the other 3 doors did. I manually unlocked the door and went on my drive. I pulled up to a gas station and got out of my door, pushed my gas panel, and nothing. I pressed the unlock switch twice on my fob key...nothing... I pressed the button my dash...nothing... I could hear stuff actuating, but now nothing unlocked or locked. I figured blown fuse right? I found a blown fuse replaced it and nothing. I'm at a point where I'm about to just yank my gas panel open but I decided to drive to my final destination and worry about gas later. Once I cranked my car up and pressed the unlock button, all locks operated properly :dunno: Don't know if the system had to be reset or what but I was happy I didn't have to break anything to get gas.

Key Fob Not Working?

You have keyless entry?
If you're keeping your key in your pocket too much it's not charging. Got to put it into the ignition once in a while to charge. Had the same problem.

Not so, the CA batteries are not rechargeable, they are changeable though. :)

Hmmmm?
My '08 335i requires that I put the key in the ignition once and a while to charge it...according to the owner's manual. Would seem strange that the 5-series would be different.
Have to admit...pressing the dash button with no result seems to indicate another problem. Time to check the 'fault' codes.

I think if you refer to page 28 of your owners manual it states that the CA keys do not have rechargeable batteries and refers you to page 38 for instructions on how to replace the Convenience Access battery. :)

How old is the cars battery? They start to do 'weird' things when the battery isn't up on charge. :dunno:
