Not that bad! If the price is reasonable I think it would be great for those of you that are fanatical about working on your cars. I won't be purchasing one; however, since when I need repair done I have it done or drive the car into the shop and do it myself on a real lift.

Problem is, unlike a chassis lift, you can't take the wheels off the car, which makes it tough to do things like swap out wheels, work on brakes, suspension, etc.

There are a buncha companies making what appear to be identical products. The ones that originally caught my eye were the Benwil ones that Supreme Power Parts (www.supremepowerparts.com) sells, (the prices I was quoted for a couple different models were around $1800) although I don't see it on their front page anymore.

Rotary branded ones are the ones you'll often see on those TNN shows like Crank&Chrome and such.

It'd be great for cleaning off all the cosmoline and dirt from underneath the car.

But for a grand, it's not a whole heck of a lot better than the $50 setup we used (Rhino Ramps and jackstands) when we installed my SSK. :D

I should do the same. Maybe pay for a lift with the proceeds!

I rebuilt my first rotary engine at 15, my first manual trans (RWD) at ~19 and my first automatic at ~21. in fact, I was under a car when the big quake hit in 89 (pulling a mondo 4x4 automatic trans out of a mazda MPV). I'm justy a car geek at heart.
I have trouble getting my shoes on in the morning. I think you've got me beat. :D Does it bug you when you take your car in to the shop? Or do you just avoid the whole thing entirely and DIY anyway?
