When I did ED on my cab last year they sent me a key ring. This time for my ED of the 325iT they sent me a BMW Rainbow Lightpen. It's pretty cool looking.

In a classic case of spousal abuse my wife (a.k.a. The Warden) was quick to jab me with an elbow to the ribs, and remind me that since it was her vehicle she was claiming ownership rights of the pen.

For those of you worried about my welfare please don't be. She really is making great strides in her anger management methods as she did not use a blunt or sharp object this time, and also kept the blow below the head and above the waist.

With any kind of luck I may actually survive to celebrate our 14th year together of this so-called marital bliss. :eeps: :tsk: :D

 If that's over the pen, what'll happen if you ask to borrow the car?! :yikes:

Mike,

Put on my hardtop yesterday. Made it through the entire summer, actually April on, without washing the top. Just brushed it and would lint roller it (with the sticky roller) and wipe off with my damp Absorber towel after a wash. Beads up beautifully in rain and looks brand new. Definitely the way to go with ragtops.

Mille miglia installing Wed. Pics to follow.

I got the lighting pen as well, kind of neat since you can use it in a dark car or some other place without any light.

John, truth beknownst in just over 18 months of ownership I have yet to give the top a thorough washing! :yikes: Most of the time when I take it out of the garage the top is down, so it is hardly ever exposed to the elements. It's never driven during the winter in extreme inclement weather, so the most it may be exposed to is rain drops during the winter months.

When I wash her, I just sponge the top at the very end. It really beads up incredibly, even today! Whatever they treat it with at the factory is amazing stuff.

I do plan on giving the top extra care next spring. I think it'll probably need it, but who knows. I didn't think I could go this long without treating it.

Look forward to the Miglia pics. I need to make a decision on them by mid-December at the latest.

Me too..

I got the lighted pen, too.

BMW does do things right for the most part. It's tasteful and pretty cool. Since I work as a marketing guy, I do know that these things aren't the biggest $$$ promo items, but again, it's well done.

See ya,

Light pen

My wife took the light pen to work. She's a pediatrician and one day she switched it on while talking to an apathetic teenager who suddenly perked up and told her, "Dude, that is so phat!"

I thought it was pretty cool, too.

Don't forget about the free meal at the European Delivery center; complete with little sugar packets with BMW and MINI logos.
