All I'm reading are thread after thread about our E46's breaking down. Smolck's car has no reverse now, another member misshifted his car, another members car is just breaking apart left and right, another members fuel pump died

and just now Malibu Mafia was in an accident and his car is smashed up a lot, but he is fine.

Breaking down = mileage. E46 will be a dinosaur soon.
Eh, I dunno about that. The E36 guys are still going strong. For me, my car is going to be an experiment in how many miles this baby can get. My buddy has 250k miles on his 99 328i (5 speed) so I figure I have plenty of time.

I think I have a set of CCFL's somewhere, you can have them.
Thanks for your offer man:), but my car is going into storage this sunday anyway, so I'll just deal with it in the spring. I appreciate it though.

Also Im dissapointed in JSW, One ring broke over the summer, replaced under warranty, other one went bad + warranty ring 3 months later. Poor quality. Thinking about getting Orions next year. MyCarr rings:thumbdwn:

tell me about it, my car has been in the shop for a week now, Autohaus in Naugatuck (trustworthy, knowledgeable!!!). Today i picked it up and took it to Bridgeport BMW to have some tests/scans run. My Autohaus guy has a guy at the dealer who is highly regarded and its there on Autohaus's account so i get all his discounts! We are going to solve this misfiring conundrum once and for all.

In the mean time......behold this teaser.....

Yea... I was thinking the same thing. I think my issues are with the fact we drove an E90 a few weeks ago and my car is pissed! :) No.. seriously I knew it was replacement parts time for me. We have 108,000 and knew we needed some stuff. I'm glad we stuck with the E46... just too bad the dealer we go through did not have a 2005 ZHP!!!!

BMW used to build cars that would pretty much run forever. See the E30.

Now they don't. It's pretty simple. Even those of us who go well beyond their crap maintenance schedule are doomed to have these things die on us.

The E46 will be my last BMW, unless I can find a real nice E30 somewhere. I never should have traded mine in the first place.

I'll keep my Z3, because it's really a pretty simple car, but BMW is now a company that builds increasingly complex, increasingly over engineered, but increasingly unreliable cars, at increasingly ridiculous prices. I mean, mine has 77k on it and the fragging washer fluid system leaks. I've never had one car, in over 35 years of car ownership, have a washer fluid leak. Ridiculous.

I'm spending my money in the future on cheaper, more reliable daily drivers, and putting the savings into classic cars.

Fuel pump guy reporting for duty... Turns out that the second round wasn't the pump, it was the relay (and I'll have to retest the original pump, might turn out to be it was the relay in the first round too!) At least with the car back I'll be able to stuff the Parrot handsfree in there now.

Glad that Malibu is ok.

Thank you all for wishing me well.
I am ok. My arms kinda hurt and I don't know if I slept wrong or my back hurts :-\.
But all in all no bleeding or hospital. I will share details after everything has been settled.
Thanks guys.

Stuff the Parrot? Is that what you call it down there? Do you use a sleeve to do it handsfree?

On a more serious note - Glad you are feeling okay Malibu --- get better fast!

Yeah, I was kinda wondering about that one myself...

Do I really want to know what that means?

;)
