On bmwusa.com in the 325Ci section, under standard and optional equipment. This is listed...

"BMW Ambiance Lighting"

What is it? :dunno: Is it the little red lights below the garage door opener like on the 5 series? I hope so. Gotta love them little flashy lights!:thumb:

Thats when the interior lighting fades from dim to bright and visa versa as I understand it.
I don't know what I'm talking about, but I thought the ambience was the red and the fading is called opera lighting.

Wow, something new everyday...I didn't even know BMW has goofy names for those things.

Come on Hack... Its what they call the small overhead lights that illuminate the console...... Hey, even BMW has to cater to the need for upscale luxury....

I thought everyone called those 2 orangel LEDs 'drug lights.'

My impression was that 'Ambience Lighting' was the pacakge that included the fading lights and the maplights, but the only cars I've seen without those were early 323s.
Ambience lighting is the two little orange pinlights that shine down from near the sunroof switch and illuminate the shifter.
hmm, anyone else just rather have "engine lighting" when you lift the damn hood...?
dark ages

another light i wish i had on my car....i'm still without a map light...even my escort had one.
