According to the BMW Book I have ;

BMW M3 E36 (1992-1995)- 286hp

0-100 km/h : 6.0 sec

BMW M3 E36 (1995-1999)- 321hp

0-100 km/h : 5.5 sec

Sorry, don't have the 1/4 mile scores.

It would depend on the year and transmission...

for EVO models, I would guess around 5.1-5.3 to 60 and mid-high 13s in the 1/4 :dunno:
that's it? :(. figured it would be pretty darn fast considering I've seen U.S. E36 M3's here run low 14's. figured it would be at least low to mid 13's at least. OH well, there goes that plan of wanting a Euro spec E36 M3.

for the euro e36m3...

it wasn't about 0-62mph (100km/h)....although, there was a time by top gear they clocked it at 4.4 seconds...it's about 0-160km/h; that car breathes as well as the e46m3 and screams up high.

it would WALK the e36m3 US version at high speeds. it was marginally more torquey.

it would be funny to see the nurburgring times for our decontented and detuned US e36m3s versus the euro evo 321hp e36m3s. bet there must be at least a solid 7-10 second difference in laptimes.

There is a difference in gearing and rear end that make up the difference.

The US car has a low differential, and lower gearing to help it fly off the line. The Euro car using taller gearing and more horsepower and torque flies at high speeds.

IMHO, the Euro car is better over there, and the US car is much better hear. I know, I know, who wouldn't kill for an E36 with 300 hp...

...But in fact, the US car (with it's gearing) is much better for 95% of the driving we do here.

Which of course would make a Euro M3 with an ultra short diff a monster over here. :)
