S-03's

235/40 on 17 X 8 inch rims - All 4 wheels

Front: 44 PSI
Rear: 40 PSI

I like the handling balance with the same width tires all around and the higher PSI in the front. In our BMW club "R" compound tires are not allowed in stock class so that is why I have S-03's.

I don't change tire pressure for the street.

Rear: 33 PSI

These are pretty much the recommended pressures for the car.

The place that mounted/balanced the tires put 38 Rear and 34 Front, but I thought the ride was a bit harder than it needs to be, and the owner of the shop told me to run 30/33 anyway.

Today...41.5 F, 38 R. I won't drop them for the street.

Forgot to mention in the other thread I wore off the arrows on my right front today. I wish that I had marked my tires when CD offered his shoe polish.

Goodyear RS-A's 205/50/17

50F 45R Street and AutoX

Yep it's high presure, but with these soft touring sidwalls, it rolls over far too easily under heavy cornering and lower pressures.

With the spare out, this is the perfect setup for autox. (given any fool like me that runs it on touring tires.)

BTW, 11K on the tires, and 1/32 above the wear bars on front and rear left. Do I drive them too hard?

I run 37-40F and 35-37R. I was on the low end of that today. The fact that I had no sidewall rolling tells me I need to corner harder. :D

JT: I killed my contitourings in about 10.5K. :)

Michelin Pilot HX MXM (Grand tourings:bigpimp: ):

32F/36R.

I've gotten very good wear from this setup. Rears have 1/4 tread left, fronts 1/3 with 22k miles so far. I don't even have to worry about sidewalls as I did in my previous car that gave up sidewalls at 15k:thumbdwn: . I think I could do another 4-5k before getting the S03

and the sidewall is stamped 50PSI MAX.

205/50/R17's

(But you're right, tirerack does say 44psi max, perhaps mine are the German version??)

I've got some Azenis sport's in my future, about 2 weeks. 225/45/17 AutoX and street. (about half the price of the S-03's and some say better performance.)
