Today i picked up an 8 foot tall banana tree using my car. I used the combination of trunk with fold down seats, the back seats, and with some of it sticking out the moonroof. It was kinda fun, and funny. But, i was thinking that this was probably the biggest thing that has ever been transported in my car. Next to this tree, i can only think of a new TV and some ceramic pots. Does anybody have a claim to fame here?? I know you Touring owners have an advantage....

I haven't received my 325xiT yet (and I doubt I'll be trying these stunts in it), but in previous cars:

A 50-gallon water heater (in box) in a 1987 Dodge Colt (ouch!)

A large gas barbeque grill (also in box), about 2' x 3' x 5', in a 1995 Eagle Talon.

My GF brought home a 9' palm tree in a 2001 Toyota Celica by loading it through the moonroof.

Well, wasn't my current car...but my long gone first car - VW Golf GT. My friend and I drove around fully equiped in Scuba gear. I mean ALL the gear - wetsuit, belt, tank, the works, even the mask. We were at a spot, and it turned out to be lame, and knew of another a few miles away. Anyone who scuba dives knows what a pain it is to take all that gear off - then put it cold back on. No way. So, we said, what they hey? Why not? So we pushed the seats back as far as we could, cranked the seatbacks down, and jumped in. For fun, driving down the main road, we put our masks and regulators on...man, we got some looks!!

Yep! Just goes to show that even with good rubber it's not always 100 percent effective all of the time. :yikes:  :D

I haven't had the BMW very long and I am being quite nice to it, since it's such a beautiful car, so nothing remarkable on that front.

A long time ago I owned a 1979 Honda Civic CVCC. Great car, and I loved it during the 79 gas crisis (it ate leaded gas while most cars needed unleaded -- no lines for Cliff!). One time I was in charge of the beer and had to transport a full size keg in the back of the thing. It pretty much went into wheelie mode and stayed there until the keg came back out again.
