When are you guys planning on getting rid of your car for something new

Now with a bunch of us getting to have 2 yr old cars and some of us with even older cars then that . . . any plans on getting a new 3er or maybe something else.

I'm hangin out for 1 year and then I've got one of 3 plans for myself.

1) Keep Eclipse Conv., trade in 330Ci for a 330i (steptronic)

2) Keep 330Ci and upgrade Eclipse Spyder to a new model Eclipse Convertible Manual (brand new or maybe a 1yr or two yr old)

3) Get rid of 330Ci and Eclipse and buy either
a) 330Cic Manual or
b) maybe a 330Ci or 330i Manual

4) Get rid of both and buy an M3. Any year. :thumb:

forgot that bro . . . an M3 is great but I really don't desire it that much more then a 330.

What about you . . . this post is asking you guys what your plans are !!!
I'm considering a second car in the next year or so for the house. Also to keep the kilometres off the Bimmer. I put on like 1200 in the past week somehow.

Something like an MX-6 or Integra. I'm particularly interested in the MX-6 LS, with it's strong V6 and slick 5-speed. Pick one of those up for under $10k and smile all the way home. :thumb:

If you could find a nice MX-6 that would be great . . . I've driven them back in the day and they are really great cars plus I love the look of that coupe . . .

Why did Mazda ever stop making it :tsk:
Picked mine up in mid September so I've still got over 2 years left on the lease but the mind does wander and so ... in the future I might be driving ...?

1. New 4 series (I'm assuming the coupe will be the 4 series by then with the new numbering system) with the biggest motor available then. 3 liter or better valvetronic?

2. Some toned down version of the X4 coupe? (I know I'll get a lot of yuk comments with that one. No puking smilies please. An AWD sports car does have some appeal here in Vermont and I'd hate to have to reconsider getting a TT.)

3. A 2002-2003 M3 after I win the raffle in July:D
I expect my next family car to be a 5 series in a couple of years. Between now and then, I'm gonna buy something else for fun...MINI, RX-8, C5, M Coupe or Roadster, maybe an Elise...I don't know.

The wagon is going to be here until 4/50, whichever comes first. Hell, if i drag my feet long enough, the wagon is going to become the fun car  :yikes:
RE:

My 2.5-year-old 328Ci still only has about 13K mi on the clock, and it's almost paid off. I think I'll keep it regardless for my kids when they get a little bit older...

:dunno:
3 year anniversary coming up in 1 month. I've got 64,000 miles on it and the lease is due. I really want to upgrade it, but the car's been so great ( no problems) and I've done a lot of mods to it.

So my choices are:

- 2003 330CI with M-Sport Pkg... it has to be a CI because I hate the new sedan designs (no sport skirts in Canada :( ) I want more power and I doubt the extra 30 hp is going to cut it. I'm really anxious to see if Valvetronic is comiing to the 3.0 in 03.

- If no Valvetronic then perhaps the next gen S4.

- If the next gen 5-series is decent looking then I could go with a 3.0 Twin Turbo!

- Perhaps a X5 4.4. This truck drives like my car and it kicks butt. This is a serious machine. Downsides are pitiful fuel economy. I would want the Valvetronic 325hp 4.4 from the 745i, so we'll see what BMW introduces.

Bottom line is that until something good comes available, I'm keeping what I have. It really depends on what/when BMW or Audi introduces in the next few months.

I'll probably drive it until it dies or until I have lots of money to spend or some incredible opportunity comes along car-wise. I could be happy with this car for the rest of my life. A few modifications would be nice along the way :D I have no plans :dunno:
I'll keep my car for 3 - 4 years or until its warranty expires, parting all of the mods and sell them, trade in or sell the car for M3.
It's my dream. :D
Well, I thought I had it all figured out and I as some of you know I have a buyer with a deposit on the car, but the more and more I drive it (which has been a lot lately) I'm starting to have some serious second thoughts. What to do? :dunno:

I can't beleive a person is waiting that long for your car . . .

You should go and get a 2002 330i with that awesome suspension and steering. Also, make sure you don't get the split folding rear seat this time.

I've had the deposit since Mid-April. The problem has been trying to set up a date for him to fly down to come see the car. Our schedules never match.

I can't afford to do a 330 again, times have changed. I now have a wife and child. This very well could be my last BMW.
M3 in about two years or so. I still have two year left on my lease.
January 2003 :p
I have actually been considering trading in my 320d for a used, gasoline engine E39 Touring. I just haven't been able to find the right one!

Otherwise, I will stick with the BMW I have now for another two years.

What about a 330d ? :)

I drove a 330xd last weekend. Wow. It moves forward like a freight train. Needless to say, it was un-fun to get back into my 320d after that ride.

I would actually like a bit bigger BMW, and I like the E39. I am too poor - or too whimpy to take a risk - and buy a, say, ALPINA B3 ... :D Or do they make a Touring model? :yikes:
