when to expect key fob programmed options sheet?

My car is about 3 weeks away now!!!!!! Time does slow down the closer you get. When should I expect my dealer to fax me the key options worksheet? Also, how long approx. till my car will clear VPC and make it to my dealer? How long does the dealer take to prep the car for delivery? I am starting to countdown the hours now.....sigh... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Your dealership will probably not voluntarily fax you any key sheets, so you should call them yourself. I faxed mine over about 3 weeks prior to scheduled delivery and everything worked out fine.

Regarding the prep, it takes 1-3 days depending on the volume of cars the dealership has to prep. Mine took 1 day. My car also took about a week to ship from the VPC -> Buffalo, NY (not too bad) but it only stayed at the VPC for 3 days (and they even swapped the tires for me).
I also pro-actively called my dealer to ask for the Car/Key Memory worksheet. I turned in my completed sheet a few days before I took delivery.
Take the initiative, don't rely on them to contact you.
For what it's worth, the key sheet is pretty lame, and doesn't go into detail regarding ALL the programmable options.

Either:

a. Print this worksheet, circle your options, and send it to your dealer when the car hits the VPC

or

b. Ask the dealer to walk through the configuration of the car with you during delivery using either the portable MoDIC or the big one.

or

c. Both

I did (c). My dealer was more than happy to spend the time with me to do every option I wanted, not just on the worksheet.

My car took a week at the Port Hueneme VPC and there was no damage. All depends on the load. Ditto on asking for the sheet, I bet many buyers never do.

P.S if you are not getting the alarm the blinking clown nose can be programmed separately.
My Sales Advisor actually gave me the form when I placed the order. I filled it out and faxed it back to him 2 days later.

When I picked up the car 2 months later - he had forgotten all about the sheet. They enabled my options the next time I came in for service. So, the best would be to send it back a few days before you pick up the car.

What boat is your car on? Is it on the Century Leader? Did we already discuss this (I don't recall) I'm 2.5 weeks away. Time is moving equally slow for me as well. It's hard to do actual work, and I'm jealous of all the guys over at Fanatics who get to actually put mods on their cars, when all I can do is stare at the boxes in my garage and gloat.
My boat is on the Cent. Leader too!! I hear ya Imola... I go to work everday hoping I will get something done....but sigh. I can't concentrate on anything but my car right now and if it wasn't for my Project Manager, I would probably be so behind.

A week at the Port Hueneme VPC?!?!?! Gotta be kidding me. At that rate, I won't get my car until past April 22!!!! I hope they speed things up there.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will definetely print out the worksheet and fax it to my sales advisor as well as give him a call. I'm not very happy with East Bay BMW but they were the only dealership that would show a young guy like me ANY respect. :dunno: :dunno:

I know how that is; fortunately I was able to walk out on such a dealership and find my good friends at Towne BMW! =)
