Where can I get one of these?

Can I order this somewhere? It'd have to fit my 2002 325xiT (PP for auto-dimming)

Anyone know what it would cost?

BMW has this mirror with digital compass as a part. Check with your dealer. Part numbers are in the picture attached. :D

Vince - is there a part number for non-autodimming one?

I tried clicking on the scroll down button but for some reason it didn't work :dunno:  :p

And, can you tell if any additional wiring would be required for the compass?

TIA!

Gee, that's the mirror in my wife's Olds. Compass and autodimming. Nice feature.
Wonder if we can make the V1 display work through that... :D
I am afraid these are the only two that show up in the ETK CD. Not too sure what you meant by scrolling and not working though...:dunno:

And there are no additional info about the compass wiring.

Yes. I've recently seen a post on an auto board where someone did this exact thing. I believe they resell their services as well. Might have been on .org... I can't remember.

EDIT: Found it in my History cache. It was on .org (http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e46/forum.php?postid=449321&page=1). Here's the direct link to the mod. - http://www.apexcone.com/Radar/RadarLove.html

Yeah a shop in NYC does it. They take apart the mirror, stencil and clean out the shapes for the V1 display parts, and fit the remote display in there.

The V1 display unit itself is pretty tiny... if you take apart the remote display, you'll find most of the space is empty. There are a lot of places I'm considering placing my remote display when I have more time.

Vince, do you actually have that Bmw Parts program? The one that shows each Bmw in full detail with every part , Its name , Its Part number, and price?
if so WHER DID YOU GET IT? I always watch my BMW dealer play with it . I asked him to see how much a factory z8 Side skirt grill would cost . . he zoomed in on it and picked all the componets needed It came up to like 1,500 each HAH . . I tried to act like I could afford it . . I almost started laughing lol 1,500!!!! for a hole inside a car!! a HOLE!!! thats all it is with a bmw emblem in it and a neon light for a turn signal

Vince, it appears that the parts you listed there are for rain-sensor equipped cars.

An email reply from Circle BMW:

We received your order for the mirror on your E46 touring. The only listings we have are for cars with rain sensor, the number you provided was also for a car with rain sensor.

I have a 325 with PP, so no rain sensor. Is there a compass mirror without the rain sensor?

Interesting. I was just thinking about this same part the other day - until I checked out the price: $350 USD.

The anti-dazzle feature is nice, but I have a watch with a compass in it ...

Oh well.

Cowboy:

It seems that this is only available for cars (E46, E39 and E38) with the rain sensor. There is also a version for rain sensor + anti-theft alarm (same price).

I don't find anything about adding the rain sensor function though.
