Based on Edmund's/KBB, I think I'd offer $34K firm. And that only if I was feeing overly generous. Too bad it's got everything my wife wants...

why turned in at only 16k? i also don't see the 'premium sound' system... guys, isn't it a slightly different head unit? 39.3 is way to high in my opinion.

and i wouldn't dismiss the "auto trans stuff"... don't blow it off so easily... could be why it's back already with such low miles.

I wonder why they're offering a low mileage used car without CPO, seems pretty unusual.

But lotsa options, plus the low mileage. I ran KBB and got $37,250. Their price is high, but don't think it's $5,500 high, expect you'll end up around $36K. Good luck, hope I'm wrong!

I see that the windshield sticker in the photos says $38,900 which is a bit lower than the "internet price", which is the same as the "retail price"!

But here's a clue for one barganing chip:
- compare the wheel balance weight on the Murray picture with the one from Momentum.

The Momentum one is the neat O.E. wheel weight used on that type of BMW alloys.

The Murray one is the ugly type of weight that has been used on steel rims for years, typically hidden by a full hub-cap/wheel cover.

(I'd be mad if a tire shop put that type of weight on any alloy wheel of mine.)

And it is quite a large looking weight.

Clearly a wheel balance has been done at some point, which is odd for that low mileage.
Might have just been a pothole, but maybe a bigger front end impact.

Worth asking a few questions.

in my opinion 16k miles for an '08 is really not that low mileage. The asking price is a bit much even with CPO. If its without CPO, the price is definitely too high.

Sharp eyed Supercourse really brought out a great question on the wheel weight which you should defintely looking into. Maybe its nothing, but you never know.

However, this X3 has the great color and option combinations though.

Super, good catch! This one needs to go up on a rack for a careful inspection of the front end IMHO. I would not be overly concerned about the CPO since it has a very long OEM warranty left with full maintentance if indeed you still want the car after inspection. I also agree with KJ, don't discount the transmission problems in these cars.

Bob, be careful with Murray. I went thru a couple of rounds of negotiations on a '06 CPO X3 with Murray. Totally inflexible. Murray sells to the Denver Cherry Creek professional crowd, and their tactics and prices show it.

Ended up buying at Schomp BMW in south Denver. No hassle, very friendly and got a very fair deal. May want to check them out

That one is definitely overpriced. At that price I'd expect sat nav and ZAP. Keep shopping. The one that's right for you might require some travel, but trust me, it's worth it.

Supercourse: very good catch on the weight. Wouldn't touch that with a v. long pole.

Spokelizard - winslow's website doesn't show that vehicle or, in fact, any 2008 X3s. There appears to be some hysteresis between BMWNA and the dealers.

Denver61 - thanks for the rec. I got the impression that Murray thinks something of theirs other than their cars doesn't stink simply from their website. I am looking at Schomp for sure.

Unfortunately, NM doesn't have any selection at all. Plus, the dealer's similar to Murray in their attitudes. That's why I'm looking afar. BMW of Murray (no relation, apparently) in Utah has a couple of very attractive X3's, but 750 miles is pretty far...
