I swear I was going to ask this question as well..

So to recap pushing the button with the snowflake will stop the a/c from cutting on everytime I start the car correct?..

Also quick story.. The mirror in the visor on the passenger side broke the other day.. I asked for a price to get it replace and I was quoted over $500 to replace the visor.. Unbelievable.. There has got to be a way to change the mirror itself without having to replace the whole visor...

Make sure the temperature settings for both sides (driver and passenger) are set reasonably. Check the climate section of the iDrive menu (hold the iDrive knob to the left for 3 seconds) for anything that looks fishy.

I got curious about this, so I fooled around in my climate settings. I found that if I adjusted the horizontal bar down, such that it was blue or multiple blue bars, the AC activated on its own. I'm sure this is a really ****ty explanation, but the settings to fix your problem are in that section. Hold the iDrive knob to the left for ~3seconds, then push towards the rear to move down the sections and then to the right once to get to this horizontal bar. The bar should be white. It turns blue if you want it colder and red if you want it warmer. I figure it turns the heat on if it's red. If you're still having trouble, I'll go take some pics after lunch.

It is. I notice that AC issue with the different Key fob. So its a matter of your settings in the iDrive system. The Keys will store the settings. Because I usually keep the AC off, I never see the always on AC issue when I use my regular key. I recently used the spare key and the AC came on automatically. Had to turn off manually. So I do think that the keys should store the settings.

I'm pretty sure this is the setting you guys need.

And yes, the different keys make a HUGE difference in the car. Especially the 6er. From driving style to seat and steering settings to climate and mirrors, Car Key Memory is a wonderful and powerful thing.

That horizontal bar in the last 3 pictures is what we're looking at. Mine is set to neutral (white) and it can go cold (blue) or hot (red). I believe setting it to cold turns the AC on as necessary.

I have the answer to the A/C coming on. For some reason BMW coded the car to come on when you press the A/C why I don't know.

When I had my CCC replace on my 2005 645CI and the BMW Tech was recoding my car I asked if he could turn off the A/C when you press the auto button and he said yes. On my 2008 M6 when I press the auto button in the winter the A/C does not start.

If you are able to do your own coding here is the command line you have to change.

No automatic. Compressor] with climate control

When you press the automatic button will no longer switch automatically sets the air conditioning.

Control unit: IHKA

ABWAHL_AC
nicht_aktiv -> active

I got this information from here

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e6...m6-convertible-m6board-com/172542-dyi-_coding-e63-e64-updated-02-21-2011-a.html

zerocks1 is the one who posted the information on how to code are 645CI, 650CI, and M6'S

If you click on the DOC "Modules and activities". It will tell you what you can options you can change.

Hope it helps

Hi, sorry to bump that thread but my 06 750li turns off the automatic climate control on the passenger seat, when I turn it back on, after some time goes off again, also sometimes the AC is starting by itself (not when you start the engine, but while you are driving already). IS someone have any idea what might cause that?
