Will I fit

I am 6' tall, 230 lbs. I have a bead on a 1997 Z3 with low miles. I don't fit well in a Miata, but had no problem in my 2002 S2000. Will I fit in a 1997 Z3?

Thanks for you input.

I am 6'-2" and 205 lbs. My head has an inch or two of clearance under the soft top. And the seat has much more rearward travel than I can use. A friend has an old Miata, and it is a much smaller car, both outside and inside.
Cool, I will look at the car tomorrow. anything I should look for in particular? It as less than 30k miles on it, looks like new.
There's a stickie on a Pre-Purchase Advise on the other bmw z3 forums. If you google it it should come up.

I don't know where vintage42 stores his 6'2" when he sits in his car. I'm 6'2" and no matter what I do, I can't drive without bending my right leg so much that it is not supported by the seat. To get the seat back so my right leg is close to straight, I have to have the seatback close to vertical and the seat raised enough that my head touches the soft top. Also, I'm only 190 lbs and the seat is comfortably snug. Depending on where you carry the extra 40 lbs., you might find the seating snug in additional dimensions.

I'm driving an M Roadster, so the seats may be different in a regular Z3. In any case, it is all worth it. I love driving the car, and except for my right leg, the seats are very comfortable. Once on the highway, I can engage cruise, stretch my right let under the brake peddle and be comfortable.

The seat tilt mod raises the front edge of the seat so that it supports the leg.

Have not adjusted my seat up or down since I got the car. Didn't know it could be raised or lowered.
I'm 6-1 and fit comfortably in my 1998 Z3.. I do think that if mine had the convertible top head liner, I would have a tight fit. My 1998 does not have a head liner, so I have plenty of head room... I do however have the seat as low as possible...

I'm 6'3" and just clear the roof, no big deal because the top is down whenever possible.
I'm only 5-8 so I fit quite well. My partner is 6-7, 250, and can't fit behind the steering wheel. You are somewhere in the middle, so if you are evenly proportioned you should fit just fine.
Ok, test drove the Z3 I was looking at, and I fit just fine. Probably won't buy it though, the Lexus dealer low balled me bad on my trade. It was a nice car though, a '97 Z3 with 24K miles on it. They are asking $12,888 for it. Thank all for taking the time for your input.
That's a pretty steep price for that car, you can find them for less pretty easily.
I'm 6'6" and 270 with race seats in my car. It's snug but very much doable if you are motivated. Once you are in the car, it fits like a glove.
6' 1" here, and rather portly at 250 plus...I fit better in my 02 Z 3 than I did in my C 6 Corvette...go figure...
At nearly 6'4" I just barely fit with my hair pushing on the top when it is up. Fortunately, the top isn't up very often. Mine is a good weather car, I drive an X3 for bad weather.

That said, if my golf clubs wouldn't have fit in the trunk (all of them and yes I have to take the driver/3metal out of my carry bag and angle them in) I would never have test drove the car when I bought it 10 years ago.
