Has anyone ever tried to rebuild an electric window motor?

They $124 for a replacement and it looks like it can be rebuilt w/ out much trouble.

It's often easy to rebuild an electric motor (just throw in a new set of bearings and brushes), but I'd bet you'll never be able to track down the parts to do it. Motors like this are typically "non-serviceable" unless you have the capability to manufacture the parts yourself. Bite the bullet and order a new one.

I'm trying to do it all myself, found out this morning it was the regulator, not the motor going bad. It would role down very slowly but go back up at normal speed.

Regulators, not motors, are the known weak point on these cars. Make sure you lubricate the window channels and confirm that you have smooth and unobstructed up and down movement of the glass, or you will be replacing the regulator again very soon.

I have replaced 4 regulators in Houston, never a motor. Plastic and extreme heat does does not mix well over time.

catso has it right. I sprayed silicone on the track and solved my slow window problem. You may still have a weak regulator but can get more miles out of it.
