Hi everyone,

I'm looking at buying winter tires for my '07 335i which I recently bought.

It has the 18" sport wheels on it and I was thinking about using these as my set for winter tires and buying a new set in the spring for summer driving.

Would there be a big difference in grip between the tire rack recommended 225/45R17 vs. the 225/40-18 front and 255/35-18 rear sizes of my current wheels?

I live in Columbus OH and I don't expect a ton of deep snow but probably some packed snow/ice.

Also there are no 255/35R18 winter tires left available this season so staggering is no longer an option.
