Nokian makes a bunch of snow tires- all of them are rated pretty high. The WR is a good compromise since it is a snow-rated all season. My gripe with snow tires is that good ones wear too fast on dry roads, so you pretty much need to pick your tires for each day (dry, wet/slush, snow/ice). WR combats this with good dry wear, but is still not the best for deep snow and ice. I don't know anything about the other manufacturer.
