Just finished updating nav system to the latest maps 2016-2.



There are lots of resources on the web to accomplish this yourself, and several different methods.
I downloaded a torrent of the maps, and generated my own activation code.
You can search e90post and bmwcoding for more information on the process, or PM me if you want specifics.

The only cost was a $20 usb-ethernet adaptor that I had to buy on amazon. But now I can perform the same steps on local Exx BMW's too.

My OBD2 adapter has been shipped, so I will look into some coding options next. :D

I thought e chassis was using KDCAN and not ENET, can you post the cable you used?

Yes, that post is a good one.
The KDCAN is for coding only. But yes you can use an ENET cable...or... a USB-->Ethernet cable.
The idea is that you get an IP address on both the vehicle computer and your PC computer. Then you can communicate with the car to see the file system.
