Does anyone know if it is true that the xdrive system will be suspended when the car is at speed of 75 mph or above?

xDrive is never suspended. What you might be thinking about is when it reverts to full rear-drive over 180 km/h (112mph)

So the xdrive will revert into 100% rear-drive at 180 km/h. Does it say in the manual and Why? Wouldn't an all time 4wd be safer?

xDrive is an AWD system that constantly monitors driving conditions and changes the power distribution front/rear accordingly. It's much more flexible and results in a more enjoyable driving experience than a typical fixed AWD system. BMW has always believed that rear-wheel drive is better, and even their older AWD system had a rear-bias (38/62). A fixed 50/50 system might be more stable overall, but it's definately not as fun to drive and lacks the ability to shift power around.

For details on the xDrive system, read the link. There's plenty of instances where the X3 operates in rear-wheel drive only (parking, high speeds, dry cornering, etc)

None of this is mentioned in the owner's manual.

I think it also reverts to RWD at parking lot speeds (<5mph) unless it detects slippage. This *was* mentioned somewhere in the brochure/manual...
