Now this is a garage! Yin and Yang, white E34 525, Automatic, Black E36 M3 5 speed.

I keep all those tools on my wife's side of the garage...who cares if a trailblazer gets a scratch on it:D :D :D

Ya, I've often thought about switching sides on the cars. There is stuff hanging on the other wall too. I always rush to check after one of our tremors

I sent this to the guys at Griots Garage and they sent me a link to their garage floor paint :D

They also told me I was very brave to buy a black car knowing my detailing habbits.

I can attest to that. As you may know, I've been detailing my wife's black Olds for sale. While black can be rewarding, it's also your worst nightmare. She took it for a quick errand, actually the dent removal shop, and when I got home it looked filthy (by my standards). Dusty, little spots of stuff and who knows what else. Of course, you don't dare touch it because you'll scratch the mirror surface. Must wash. I was PC buffing the car. Did the hood, top, trunk, one side, then the other. By the time I got back to the front the hood had shit all over it, again dust and stuff. I don't know where all this comes from. It's merciless, shows absolutely everything. On the other hand, I walk into the garage and have to do a double take when I see the car, even for an Olds, it's gorgeous to look at.

Thanks, but while you're integrated it looks like I'm racist!

Have fun with that new car. Does it need a good detailing? Between the 540 and the Olds, I'm detailed out. Need a rest.

BTW. I tried putting Blitz carnauba (paste) on the red griot's polish pad with the PC orbital to do the Olds final waxing. Didn't want to use BOS and create more work. It really worked very well once I got enough of it on the pad. Much easier than applying by hand and it just dusts off. Might do a quick clay and Blitz waxing this way on the 330.

i would swap sides for the car. if ur wife opens the door a bit too wide on her car you stand the chance of getting a door ding right in your own garage. if the M3 sits on the right side you only have urself to blame if u ding her car. then again does that pole get in the way?

Yes it does have a sunroof.

And John, you know me, of course it needs a good detail. I did the interior today. It sucked up the leather creme and vinyl treatment. Looks better than new now.

This weekend...the body. wash, clay, polish, and couple coats of wax...

AS far as dust...

Invest in a California Duster. Those things do work great, remove dust w/no scratches. :thumbup: Big trick is to spread it out on newspaper in the sun for about 3 days to let the paper soak up the excess wax, so it won't leave streaks.

A detail freak buys a used, black BMW for heavy track use.

hmmm....sounds like the perfect recipe for a nervous breakdown ;)

Car looks great, I hope you enjoy it :thumbup:

btw, didn't know the 525 was an auto. The M3 (and the 325Ci too), had quite the opposite mission. Yin/yang :thumbup:
