more results, need more input
I took FredR's advice, I received the Blackstone kit in less than a week, I***8217;ll do the oil change soon. I also ordered a new radiator, cap, and temp sensor. I installed everything but still have the same issue, but a few more results.
During installation of the new radiator when the car is at normal temp you loosen the bleed screw to let the air out. I did this but at one point the bubbles became very small I'm thinking this isn't really in the system but rather air introduced as the fluid tries to squeeze out of the loosened screw. Am I really supposed to just keep the bleed screwed loosened a little and wait until i see absolutely no bubbles? I already went through what i guess is 1/2 qt of fluid just from bleeding.
Ok, the new results. For some reason when I started my car, my blower in the car turned on to full power, wawhoo!!!. This was great, unfortunately even after the car heated up and the blower was on 4 and the temp on hot. I was still getting cool air out of the vents. Could this mean i have a blockage in my heater core. Oh, and those metal pipes down in the foot well that go to the heater core.....even after the car started to overheat they were still cool (more like cold).
My radiator hoses felt much more firm this time. I ended up with the same results though, the top one got hot then really hot when the car started to overheat. While the bottom one remained cold.
I installed a new aux. fan switch and it never turned on the fan....my guess is because the radiator was still cold even when the car started to overheat. I could put my hand on it anywhere and it was still cold.
I feel like I'm not getting any flow in the system, I just don***8217;t get it. New Thermostat, water pump, hoses, radiator, radiator cap, aux. fan switch. And the car idled really well, especially for sitting around for 2 weeks.
DWM: I have not ignored your suggestion, I'll eventually take off the head and check it out. But right now I have got to get the car running if at all possible with the head the way it is. When I get enough money to get a second car I'll garge the z3 and work on the head.
