Zaino'd my car, but...

It seems I still haven't mastered the art of waxing my car. I have the usual telltale marks that I've left - I can't describe it, not quite swirl marks. Now, granted I have a Jet Black car, but still... Is this a factor of improper application or removal usually? I'm using my current car as a guinea pig before I get my M.

BTW, while the car looks great, I can't get over the way it feels, it's like running your hand along glass! Amazing!

I'm enjoying my P21S Paint Cleaner + P21S Concours Wax + Mothers Quick Detail Spray(seems to be way better than Meguiars)

Is it streaking and smearing? If so, the Zaino didn't fully dry before you took it off. Using a damp cotton towel, wipe over the areas affected and dry it off. See if that clears it up.

It might be. I'll take a look again and see if I can't fix it. It's very hard to see - it requires just the right angle. That's why I probably didn't see it until I pulled the car out the next morning. The night I did it, it looked smooth as glass. I think the best description I can muster up is that it looks like the northern lights (that kind of shimmer) without the color obviously :D

I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks!

This happend to me tonight when i touched up my hood on my new 330i with wax. This was the first time i had put wax on it as it is only a week old. I also have the jet black and it seemed like some parts had something strange happening like it was greasy without anything really there. Let me know if you get this solved and how.
Thanks

Well, I couldn't touch it up as alee suggested because I got pollen all over it, but I did wash it this weekend, and it came out perfect! I have another thread on this board showing the reflection on my car now.

Bol, nice! But your doing the right thing, your finish is protected from that snow/salt! Good job on keeping with maintaining that finish!
Imola ed-

I noticed a similar thing when I used Zaino-- under certain lighting condtions the car seemed ot have a film over it. I know it was my mis-application of it. But no matter what I did (as closely as I read Alee's and Zaino's insturctions) I just couldn't get it right.

I finally gave up went to P21s products -- and never looked back. Although they don't last as long and don't give you quite the same level of smoothness they're so much easier and more satisfying to apply that you don't mind doing it every month. They also do a better job of hiding light scratches than the Zaino producsts

Bol-

I use the exact same combo right down to the Mother's detail spray! I'm very happy w/ those products as well. I ended up w/ Mothers just because they were out of Meguiar's at my local Auto parts store. But now I'm hooked.
