This is what I wish we had here in the states! I asked if anyone was able to code this on our cars in an earlier post, no response unfortunately, as this is pretty bad a**...

:dunno: I have been playing with mine and this is the way they work?? It only works with the LED option which is another $1,900's. I assumed all LED cars were like this.

That's very interesting... I have the LED's and all mine do are the auto on-off, they don't do the highlighting fancy stuff, my understanding is we don't have this due to DOT regs... For those that it works on, how do you activate it?

Exactly! Which is why it's weird that Richard would have it? I think this will make it on my list of mysterious forces I will never figure out! :)

Dynamically adjusting and beam splitting half high beam BMW style lighting pkg are different. Does mb and Porsche do that too?

My Toyota Sequoia has a self closing rear hatch. When that sucker goes down it looks like a garbage truck smashing the trash. Do you know how many little kids I could squash with that?:yikes: Very dangerous.:yikes: And BTW, my side mirrors also fold in.:yikes: Very helpful when squeezing thru the Drive Thru! :D

this looks fantastic but also seems like a 4k problem in 3yrs that wont allow the headlights to come on!!

But then there was this post:

I took 5AP off my VO and recoded FEM_body and it gave me horizontal glare free high beam (GFHB). I enabled the vertical setting and the shutter setting too and it has everything working

It is pretty cool on a dark two lane road. It is too touchy in my opinion on the highway. It has to swap back and forth too often.

I'm gonna have to try this again, because I could have swore I saw my lights adjust and move in the fashion described in the video. It really does suck if we don't have it and we paid for it. :thumbdwn:

<BUMP>

Update, per Bimmer Tech-

It seems we can do it. The cost including coding cable is 150USD.

Kind regards,

Here is the message I got from a buddy last night.

"They are absolutely equipped with the hardware. The software is what BMW is using to limit this. I'll get yours setup as well. Let's touch base this weekend and/or week coming up to do this"

Hot Dog!

Just did this coding myself last night and tested it today. IT WORKS!!!!!

Pretty amazing, my beams stay on virtually all the time when the ambient area is dark even with lots of other traffic. The lights auto adjust so the other drivers don't get hit with my high beams. No one flashed me at all either.

I have a 2013 F01 with the LED option. Coding took only 10min. Easy peezy if you know how to code.

Popoemt: Bring your 7 when you come to SD and your welcome to come over and I will hook this up for you. I even have 2014 maps if you want for the car. You will only need to buy the FSC code.

Just curious, how do you know how to code these cars? Do you actually have to write code lines or is the code already written in and just commented out and all you do is erase the comment signs? delete the " , and make that code line active in the script?

I have the cable and the program, however it is all in Zip'ed files and the cheap Microsoft computer I purchased does not have the room to unzip all of the files. Is anyone in the Florida/Tampa area that codes?
