Gotta wonder: Does it change backpressure and if so, does it modify programming?

i only believe that the BMW PE gets your program modified idk if remus does

 

I know the BMW Performance Exhaust for the 135i actually made it LOSE power; I'm unsure about the 335i.

 

I think it's not exact losing power but shifting it out along the power band, benefiting the top end when the PE is used.

On a similar note, I experienced a lack of low end torque when I disabled the exhaust flap on my OEM exhaust(akin to the PE which has no flap) which lead me to believe the stock software is optimized for some sort of back pressure, - though that does not jive with conventional free flow wisdom of benefits for turbo motors. :dunno:

 

so is everybody saying that the PE is bad or any exhaust is bad

 

Don't think anyone is saying its bad, many love the sound of the PE, as for extra performance not so much and that holds true for any axel back system. Vroom vroom vroom!

 

in addition to making the car louder when going from stock to aftermarket exhaust, it will... ummm... well it will do only that
the car will "feel" faster cuz it's louder and adds that placebo effect that it's running richer, when in fact it's the same (if not a bit slower as SPDSKTR mentioned)
let's face it, BMW did a pretty good job making their cars optimal from factory (damn you BMW for not making me spend money on doing the small stuff :rofl

 

Having a 6MT e90, the louder BMW PE makes it a breeze to shift "by sound". That was my only complaint of the stock system: Just too darn quiet.

I'm not buying stuff to impress the neighbors, rather it improves the subjective quality of the ride.

It just doesnt seem loud at all like it seems very quiet compared to the BMW PE ....kinda sound like my OEM one

 

The Remus sport exhaust gives an OEM+ sound. It's not going to be overly loud but it's definitely noticeable when your driving from the outside.
