Hi new to the site so not sure we're to post, right I have a e39 530i had the eml light come up so I have a diagnostic tool a icarsoft. Plugged in to the car it has come up with the ecu part number 7509942 then I read the fault codes and it says bank 1 permissible range exceeded an also bank two, erase code it stays off for about a week then pops up again car runs great no problems at all, so any tips or thoughts on this please, car has had the centre box deleted prior to me buying it,

People typically create a new thread in the sub-forum applicable to their model for this type of question. This post would be better suited to a new thread in the E39 forum, since it's for a specific diagnosis of codes. But first, I would suggest searching the E39 forum for any existing threads containing "bank 1 permissible range" or better yet the applicable P-code. Someone might have already found and answered this question.

Did that search for you with Google's help, and came up with the thread:

I have the same a e39 530i after about a year I got the same problem with the same BMW codes In odbii it is PO174 & PO171. lean codes for bank 1&2. Ran smoke test and replaced the MAF and two O2 sensors did the carb cleaner test to find intake leeks-none. Finely got PO313 code about fuel pressure and replaced the fuel pump. Now I wait I think this will solve the problem. The fuel pump could keep every think going but not enough volume to do it right (would have seen pressure drop under load and 3k rpm)

good luck The center what was removed??? May invalidate everything:dunno:

Fault codes e39 530i

Right guys I have replaced bank 1 and 2 oxygen sensors as the diagnostic said they were in active, it now staits they are active, I now have bank 1 fuel trim limit and bank 2 permissable limit reached, maf live data on idle is between 17/18kg on reving the engine up to 4000rpm the maf live data is peaking at 104kg,and back down to 17/18kg on tick over,, the car runs fine but is a bit juicy I know it's a 3,0l but it should be getting more than I'm getting, any advice is greatly appreciated been looking at you tube video with people cleaning the maf is it worth it, or is it best buying a new one, cheers guys, ***128513;

Here's something i think we should all do. start a FAQ since these questions seems to pop up every... oh.. 6-12 days?? here's a start...
What a smashing ride. I had the wonderful opportunity to be chased by a X3 over 100km. reaching 215 on the clock but not a cent more. i begged, i swore, i pleaded -- but the f%^$#kng X3 stayed on my tail. how can I loose this asshole :cry: Not true. it was a great experience and i doubt it can ever happen again. Thanks friend. You are a great driver and it revitalized an old senile burnout.
Never do Caledon to Napier again. Wishing you a long and super DRIVE life ! Willy Cape Town 525i 2001. 220k on the clock.
