19" wheels on a e36..

i have searched but havent come up with all the right answers

im getting a good deal on some 19" wheels and i wanna know will i have problems with fittment they are 19x8.5 w/+38mm offset 5x120 bolt pattern..
I dont know what size tires to run so if you could help with that it would be great..

Why? I reckon 19" on e36s are just wrong. Not to mention astronomical tyre (tire) price.

Having said that, it can be done. I've seen e36 on streets with 20".

Anyway, to answer your question, you might need to roll the lips of the guards and install a steering limiter.

Tire size, you are probably looking at something like 245/30/19

back in the US when i was working at this auto body shop. the boss own a 97 e36 m3 he put bbs set of 19's then later upgrade to 20's.. i asked him any fitment issue and he had to add in some type of spacers and roll the fender but not sure much else.. since he dont like to reveal what he had done to the car...
