My 1999 Z3 convertible has a broken power seat motor; I am unable to access seat bolts to remove the seat to access the motor, etc. Is there a way to manually move the seat forward to access the rear anchor bolts? Or does anyone have a solution or suggestion to access the rear bolts? Most of the suggested repair methods I have found for replacement of the motor is to remove the seat (S%@t!!!)..."I am lacking the ability to get to that point in the repair"...thanks for the help...Boodski

Check the seat diagram above. The drive shafts from each side of the actuator (part #3) at the front of the seat will move it backward and forward. The shafts (part #4) are a flexible cable which will allow you to flex them and pull the ends from the seat rails. All you have to do now is find something that will fit in the seat rails where the shaft was then turn it and the seat will move backward and forward. You'll have to alternate sides so that one does not get too far forward or behind the other. It'll take a while but it works. Good luck.
