yes and no. it's located on the back side of the manifold intake, next to the throtle body. the hardest part is not breaking the the plastic hose that runs from the valve cover to the pcv. but bmw list as a water oil seperator. the purge valve may be something different. as something to do with the fuel. hopefully some one else will chime in.

 

the dealer here in US called it breather valve. another dealer called it evap. Called three different bmw dealers and they all gave me different answers.

anyone else have any idea what and were it would be at? and is it easy to change?

It's located behind the resivoir for the power steering and under the intake manifold--one hose coming in and one going out--there will also be an electrical hook up on it--when I had this code come up I cleared it by tightening the gas cap on the car and that worked for awhile--then I removed the rubber 0 ring on the gas cap and on the 0 ring there on the outer edge of it I filled that area with black permatex gasket maker and let it sit up overnight. By doing this -it made a tighter seal around the cap.. Year later my purge valve did fail and need repalcing at that time though.

Hi i have a 2002 525i and had two codes that had to do with cylinder 3 and 5 misfiring and also smoke coming out of the exhaust.i checked the spark plugs and they show evidense of oil.can someone help me?

 

Sounds like you have a couple of different problems. One the CCV valve and the 4 hoses that go with it need to be replaced. Next I think that you need to replace your valve cover gasket and the gasket that goes to the spark plug wells.
