Various hydraulic fluids have varying compatibility with different types of plastic/rubbers used in hoses and seals. Different hydraulic oils can also interact when mixed with bad results.
That's what I've been told, and as a hydraulics engineer I've found it to be mostly nonsense. Almost all hoses are flouropolymer lined and almost all seals are nitrile or flouropolymers as well.
So you'd be hard pushed to find an oil incompatible with the hoses/seals. I'd still be slightly concerned about a possible interaction between the oils so just make sure you properly drain the system before changing the oil.
I'd honestly put anything oily in that system so long as the viscosity is right. I'd guess it's about an ISO 32 grade oil that's in there so ATF, CHF11s et al are in the right ball park.
