Active front seat question

I couldn't find a nearby dealer with the active ventilated seat option to let me test drive. I like the Mercedes E-class massage chair function. One BMW internet salesman told me that I would be disappointed with the BMW active seat if I enjoyed the Mercedes' one. Anyone here can share an opinion. Thanks.

It feels like shifting, lowering and rising bags under the seat cushion. It is very nice for long drives, when you need to get your blood flowing and avoid a pain in the... butt.

Sometimes on my drive back from work after sitting for 8 hours, it is nice to turn it on and relax a bit.

Truth be told, the best feature of these seats is not the "active" feature, but the nice perforated leather and multi-adjustment options. I love these seats!

It's just two air bags under your butt - they flow air from one side to the other every 15 seconds or so, making your butt wobble back and forth. Not really a massage, and only mildly impressive. They've had the same concept used for at least a couple years all the way up to the 7-series, not sure why they haven't developed something more advanced like MB uses.

I have it on my F10 550i. It works quite well on long drives. I like it a lot.

I am interested in this as well. Are the ventilation and "active" settings separate? That is, can you turn the ventilation on and leave the seat motion off? I know there is a ventilation switch, but I never noticed how you turn the seat movement on and off.
