BMW individual advice for new F31

Just ordered a new F31: 320d Luxury line in Havanna metallic with the 416 18" luxury rims. Mostly fully optioned, notable exceptions being the dynamic ("radar") cruise, HUD and lane departure/other safety stuff (and none of the M-sport options). Production in May, delivery early June! :)

Sooo turns out choosing trim and colours isn't easy, and thought I'd try to get some advise here on Bimmerfest! For the seats, I was keen on getting something "lighter". Inexplicably, if you go with the light "Oyster" dakota leather seats, BMW insists on making everything from the floor and floor sides up to half the dash in the same beige colour. Horrible -- but I realised that with selecting the Individual Merino Leather seats, the rest of the car (except the door sides, which is nice) would stay black!

So, cashmere beige individual seats selected (ZAKS), and here comes the question: what do you think about the rest of the indvidual package? In Scandinavia (and perhaps everywhere else?) you can select any of the individual options by themselves: Individual metallic paint, interior trim, steering wheel and leather seats, and individual door sills (at no cost) if you want.

I'm happy with Havanna, and the steering wheel is off limits unless you also choose lane departure stuff (which I do not want). So what remains is the interior trim (which I currently have as the standard luxury line anthracite wood). There is a red sycamore wood and black piano which I am not interested in. The third and last individual trim is the "individual interior trim and leather" (XE9). That apparantly gives you the door sides in stitched leather (colour matched with the cashmere seats). In addition it gives you the same stitched leather on the entire main trim pieces on the dash. The other trim pieces (doors and the piece around the gearbox) gets the "Fineline pure" from modern line.

Question: what do you guys think about this individual leather trim? Does anyone have any pictures? And do you think I should get the BMW Individual door sills, or just stick with the standard "BWM luxury"?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to bimmerfest! Most of our members are in the USA where BMW Individual is very, very rare.

I think it's great to have members here from other regions and I certainly don't want to discourage you from bimmerfest. That said, you might get more input at a forum with more Euro members, such as www.f30post.com

Hi

Then we are at least two Swedes here :)

Got my F31/Modern Line for about a month ago and selected "Individual Merino Leather seats" (ZAKO) and a lot of chrome interior. The car is "sparkling bronze" so it's nice with a light interior. Selected the "BMW individual" door sills but removed all exterior signs and markings on the car.

LMC, thanks for the info! Will consider a post on Bimmerpost too.

Piffo, nice interior! I never thought about getting everything in light colors..! Funny with your choice of paint, I spent weeks deciding between Havanna (Mojave in the US I think) and sparkling bronze :)

How do your door sides look in close-up? Happy with the individual door sills? I kept the model number, but removed the line emblem.

Also nice with a fellow Swede :)

Hi, the door sills are very nice but I read about them after the order was placed. Since it didn't cost anything to change the order, we had to have "BMW individual" door sills. One funny thing with the 320d we test drove - it had "Modern line" at the drivers seat and "Luxury line" on the passenger side. The car dealer hadn't seen it : )

Hadn't really thought about the sparking bronze color if the car we tested had that color. Before we hadn't discussed anything other than "Orion silver"
