All brake lights are on the same fuses. None are working?

They stay on all the time. I unplugged the brake light switch but they stayed so i figure its the fuse. But I can’t find the right one.

 

How can it be a fuse problem if they light up?

 

If the fuse is bad this may be one indication.

 

Sounds like a wiring problem, check the wire loom. Look for any cracked or open insulation. As the loom passes from the trunk lid over the hinges would be a good place to start.

 

Fuse for lights are either 36,41,52,53 or 36,41,42,68 or 41,81,86,84, depending on when it was built.
I think you have a brake light switch problem.

 

Right you are. Go figure. I replaced the old brake light switch thinking that it was the solution to another issue. It wasn’t. It was the starter. (No crank no start) So, I put in the old switch and bam. The new switch was bad.
