Need F30 Change Language to Chinese Tutorial

Hi Shawn,

Could you send me steps or a tutorial for changing a US spec 2014 F30 to everything in Chinese Traditional Language? I have the multimedia package with the big screen and HUD.

I am exporting my car to Taiwan, so I don't care if navigation or any other U.S. feature is unusable or not.

You need to add these Options to FA, and then Flash and Encode Head Unit:

8LT COUNTRY-SPECIFIC CONTRIBUTION 04825 ( Country controller Taiwan)
866 LANGUAGE VERSION SIPLIFIED CHINESE
8AS CHINESE TRADITIONAL / ON-BOARD DOCU

Then you can also load Taiwan Map.

And is there anything else I need to do to change iDrive and HUD to Chinese? Such as FDL coding...etc, or is adding these option to FA sufficient?

Yes, as SALAPA-Elements, but just upating FA by itself doe snothing. You need to then Flash (Program) and Encode (VO Code) the Head Unit so it receives Chinese Firmware version.

Is everything you said (flash, encode) can be learned from Beginners Guide Coding.pdf ?

In the end of the guide, it does calculate FP and write FP, this is just updating FP right? In the slide "What Next?", that is the flash and encode you are talking about right? :

Click on "Coding" button.
Read FA (VO).
Activate FA (VO).
Read SVT (***8230;
Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD).
Select CODE.
Repeat for all ECUs applicable to your project...

When the guide says right-click on ECU, does that mean right-click on the folder name (such as ACSM, AMP_TOPHB, CAS, CID...etc) under the list ECUs inside SVT box? And do I do this for all ECUs right, because there is about 30 of them...

After this, I don't need to do FDL coding correct? Thank you.

Coding is reconfiguring the functions within existing ECU firmware. Programming (Flashiing), is replacing ECU firmware with different firmware. It is far more complicated, requires PSdZData Full (not Lite), and car but be on a commercial grade charger good for 50 Amp minimum.

I think in your case you need ISTA/P, but I cannot help with ISTA.
