hello, i was wearing some pants with a zipper on the back and i scratched the coral red leather on the seat, doesnt seem like the scratches goes away with leather cleaner or condionters.
I did it 2-3 times with the same pants and now those pants are in the garbage.
I assume I will have to redie the seats? what product would you recommend?
i saw https://www.amazon.ca/Colourlock-Leather-interiors-Scratches-bolsters/dp/B01KOCQFUW

and was wondering if it was good?

and also i had a piece of double sided tape accidently stick to the passenger leather seat, and it kinda lifted the leather color off a small portion.wondering if the product i buy can be used for both issues?

(also car will be returned its a lease so want a hq repair so i dont get charged)
thx!!

Take the car to an upholstery shop that does automotive upholstery. With a little work a professional can make those scuffs essentially disappear.

I can't tell if the leather is actually scuffed, in that some of the grain is lifted, or if just the color has been removed.

How old is the car? How many miles? If the seats have not faded much you might be able to get the proper leather dye and just re-do the seating areas. Typically takes some prep work so if you choose to go that route make sure you follow the directions provided by the dye manufacturer.

Don't go with the spray dyes. My experience is that it doesn't last very long. Do the prep work to do it right.

Thanks a ton for the reply!

I***8217;ll forsure message some people and see what they can do here in my city ***x1f642;

And it has 35,000 miles and it***8217;s a 2016. So about 3 years old. I spoke to colorlock and they recommended some products so maybe might do that

thanks for the reply! a local leather repair shop wants around $220 cad to repair both seats here in canada. is that worth it? like do you think they can do a much better job then me with buying the online kits?

It just depends. What will the shop do? Depends totally on the scope of what they are to do. If you plan to keep the car for a while then it would probably be worth it. Also, If you are not comfortable doing that type of work then again it's probably worthwhile to pay the shop to do it.

What's the scope of their repair?

Good question.
With the shop doing it, you have recourse if the job fails within a year or so and 220 seems reasonable so I'd go that route. Heck, I can spend that much on wax easy!

now that i think about it i ahve bmw excess wear and tear lease protection and for the interior it states:
ACCEPTABLE
Minor scuffs to the interior, seats, and soft trim (includes leather, cloth, vinyl leather, plastic, wood, carpets, headliners, vinyl and convertible tops, and weather-stripping seals).

UNACCEPTABLE
Missing interior equipment valued over $200 per item (headrests, remote controls, headphones, etc);
Stains that cannot be removed (e.g., blood);
Any burn holes or singed areas.

it doesnt seem like my damage is minor but also doesnt seem like it fits in unacceptable. anyone have any luck with excess wear?

i dont wanna take it to the dealer for them to take a look because what if its not covered and then they leave a note and think the shop who did my repair wasnt "qualified"
