Was running my X5M a little hard last week and it went into limp mode. I was unable to get good codes with my old ODB reader so I purchased a Carly. Ran diagnostics and it spit a bunch of codes:
002B2B: High pressure fuel 2, plausibility
002B1B: Misfiring cyl 6
002B1A: Misfiring cyl 5
002B22: Misfiring several cylinders
002B19: Misfiring cyl 4
002B1D: Misfiring cyl 8

Needless to say its running like ****!!
Cleared the codes and it comes back...... Any ideas?

Miles? Any service/problem history? maintenance?

I'd swap the coils from cylinders giving code to two that don't give codes, clear the codes, run diagnostic and see of the codes moved accordingly.

So I replaced the battery because I was getting a low voltage reading, replaced all of the coil packs just so I could say I knew when all were replaced. It is still giving me misfire codes on 1,3,5 and 8. Runs like crap and immediately drops into limp mode. I didn't replace the spark plugs because I replaced them a couple months ago and they have less than 1500 miles on them. I will post the Carly codes when I get them downloaded......

Pretty frustrated and not wanting to drive it 200 miles to the nearest dealer. I am pretty good fixing my own stuff if I know what I'm looking for.

If you are getting misfires on that many cylinders, I'd recheck your work.
Are the coil connectors seated properly?
Are the coil packs seated properly on the plug?
Are the plugs snug (don't tighten them further, check check to see if they are loose)?
Are the coil pack wiring harness grounds connected well?

Trying the fuel pump......

I am heading to NY for a week but when I return I am putting in a fuel pump. I talked to a mechanic buddy of mine that also owns an X5 and he said the fuel pumps go out on those at around 100,000 miles. Irregardless if it is the problem it is a consumable and will need to be replaced. I will also recheck everything.......

Following with anticipation, have the same problem to some extent and have not changed the coils + plugs since they're already changed recently - SO I'd thought I'll sign up and contribute with what I've just had done at BMW without a solution.
Cylinder 6 misfire, no error code has shown up until now but I've known that something has been wrong due to blue smoke from the left muffler at operating temp and now it's in limp mode due to misfiring.

Oil change with filters
Cooling system checked, flushed and refilled.
Low pressure sensor changed
Crankcase ventilation seal changed
Crankcase valve changed
Timing chain check
Turbos benched and checked
All cooling and pressure lines/hoses for turbo and intercoolers changed
PCV system changed (all except one lower back rubber hose, not happy about that one)
Compression test
Leakdown test
Fuel line change
And finally: Borescope camera inspection from underneath the cylinders, not accessible from above without removing the engine according to BMW.

Needless to say this has been an expensive journey and hopefully it might help someone, please do tell if this post is interfering with the original subject and I'll remove it.

what motor?

If a V8, Id be very suspicious that the injector flows are way off. Any readings on fuel trims, bank to bank?

again, which motor?
